Tabbed Command Line

If it’s one thing I hate, it’s mutiple tabs in my taskbars, coz it’s scarce real estate down there for windows. Aside from my web browser which is opera for it’s tabbed browsing offering, the next thing I spend alot of time on is the command line. With the command line, it’s just as easy to end up with a taskbar and a desktop full of command line prompt windows as it is with web browsers. Well the answer to my silent prayer is Console beta 2.0 which is an open source software that basically a tabbed command line client for windows.

Aside from the tab functionality, it also eases copy & paste, has configurable shortcut keys-assignment and a couple of eye candy tweaks like color and transparency ala KDE’s Konsole.

Here’s a screenie as usual and as you can see i’ve got 3 command line windows tabbed.

So go grab a copy here if you’re interested.
